PlayCity has relaunched the lottery market in Ukraine

The State Agency for Control of Gambling and Lottery Business in Ukraine, Playcity, has relaunched the lottery market in the country.

Since 2013, the market has been operating without proper state control. Licensing conditions for operators have not been updated. This has resulted in the Ukrainian state budget losing tens of millions of hryvnias annually.

It was time for change, so Ukraine’s gambling regulator, together with the Ministry of Digital Transformation, developed new licensing conditions for lottery operators. 

They determine:

• who can obtain a license and how
• what requirements operators must meet
• what rules they will operate under

Public discussion of the document has already begun. The next steps are coordination with state authorities and adoption of the resolution.

The draft licensing conditions have already been published on the Ministry of Digital Transformation website, so now everyone can familiarize themselves with it.
