The fight against gambling continues in Ukraine: Verkhovna Rada supports the liquidation of KRAIL

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has finally supported the draft law on the liquidation of KRAIL and introduced new restrictions for the gambling business.

It is noted that by April 1, 2025, a new structure should appear in Ukraine that will control the gambling market in the country. In addition, a number of restrictions have been introduced for gambling websites operating without a license in Ukraine. Other innovations include restrictions on online casino advertising. To be more precise, online casino advertising is prohibited in principle, except for the following exceptions: 

• on TV and radio at night; 
• in media for people over 21 years old; 
• on platforms and search engines with a target audience of 21 years and older.

Other prohibitions include the use of military symbols or volunteers in online casino advertising. Companies or individuals that previously had a tax or license payment debt will no longer be able to obtain licenses. Also, any payments in casinos, except for accounts in current banks, are prohibited.
