China declares war on Google: Beijing so responds to moves from Washington

Chinese authorities have said they will investigate Google. Beijing accuses the company of monopolizing the market in the country.

In general, the search engine has the lion’s share of the market in China, but has long faced restrictions and opposition from local authorities. Thus, a large number of tools from Google are restricted in the country, in particular, we are talking about access to e-mail Gmail. 

However, the statement itself is rather political for several reasons. First, in the United States, unclear actions against TikTok continue – although the company is not blocked in the country, but the issue remains open. Secondly, the United States is introducing trade duties on goods from China, which can greatly affect the economy of Beijing.
