The number of people wishing to self-exclude from gambling is growing in Europe
In Denmark and Slovakia, the number of people wishing to self-exclude from gambling is rising sharply, writes Gamingintelligence.
It is noted that in Denmark, more than 60,000 Danes have decided to self-exclude from gambling, while in Slovakia this number stands at 20,000 people.
It is assumed that in Denmark this figure increased amid stricter regulations and the obligation to provide clients with information about ROFUS (the register of self-excluded from gambling). Interestingly, the absolute majority in this register are men aged between 20 and 40.
As for Slovakia, in May 2025 alone, more than 500 people requested to be excluded from gambling. The local regulator noted that the data from this register helps them monitor responsible gaming principles.
