TraffHub held a CS2 tournament: professional players and company employees were brought together by "CS:HUB"
Last week, TraffHub’s arbitration team kicked off an era of Counter-Strike 2 tournaments among employees, and they did it sooo goooodd!
The event, called “CS:HUB,” brought together employees from around the world and locally gathered the Kyiv and Warsaw offices in cyber clubs 😎
There were 5 teams and 25 participants, including 5 professional players who rank high in the global CS2 rankings. And that was one of the surprises. When the players were introduced to the teams, you should have seen the reactions. Since most are familiar with CS2 and have their favorite teams and players, imagine the shock of finding yourself on the same team as your favorite, or playing against them… In short, every time they log into Discord now, the guys fondly remember that Sunday 🔥
The goal of the tournament was to test this team-building format and play with everyone. So they held five rounds (where two teams played in parallel) and a grand final, where the winning team faced off against professional players on the battlefield.
Yes, it was just the beginning, but the company did its best to organize it! This time, the following professional players played with TrafHub members:
- Arseniy, cptkurtka – kONO (now), TOP-1 faceit, ex. B8
- Denis, Burmylov – kONO (now), ex. fnatic & MOUZ NXT
- Ilya, fix – ex. Team Empire & Worst Players
- Denis, amster – ex. B8 & kONO
- Maxim, neverl0ck – ex. Board Gaming
Pretty impressive, right?
We asked Yaroslav, CEO & Founder of TraffHub, where the idea came from. Here’s what he said:
Recently, we have been increasingly holding mini-corporate events, aka team building, among employees in Warsaw and Kyiv. However, we couldn’t come up with a format that would attract employees in other cities of Ukraine and the world.
After weeks of thinking and searching for formats, we found the answer — CS2. Of course, we didn’t know what the demand would be, but after a poll in the general chat, we realized that we were going to DO IT!
As it turned out, over 50% of employees play CS2, and they have a lot of free time. Don’t put that in… (oops)
Those who don’t play had the opportunity to join the online broadcast of matches with a professional commentator, as well as come to cyber clubs in Kyiv and Warsaw and cheer in person!
To boost team spirit, all players received branded T-shirts (which, by the way, they wear very successfully in their daily lives). And of course, this merch was even delivered to players who work remotely!
Even those who had never played or had only played a couple of times tried their hand at it.
There were moments when you were like, “2A,” and they were like, “Huh?” But a few bottles of beer smoothed things over, and after “2A” came “Go there yourself.” 😁
And of course, we couldn’t do without feedback from the team! Discussions continued in offices and group chats for another two weeks — a game that brought people together better than any drinking party. However, sometimes these conversations turn into long discussions about who should have killed whom, and they don’t do anything, they just talk… But together!
The random distribution of teams allowed everyone who had never even crossed paths at work to get to know each other and communicate more closely. This gave a sense of presence and made everyone feel like an integral part of the team. Here’s what people said right after the event:
(and this is only what passed censorship)
This really became the beginning of a tradition, and we have inside information that another tournament with invited guests and even bigger surprises will take place very soon!
The first tournament was a demo version. All improvements and feedback were taken into account, and they will do something that is too scary to even talk about… Anything to make every employee feel like a part of a big machine that is just gaining momentum!
For TraffHub, it was not just a tournament, but an event that brought excitement not only to life, but also to work. It became a carefree place where everyone forgot about external circumstances and simply enjoyed the moment.
From now on, “CS:HUB” is a real community within the company. A kind of interest club!
