After all, we know how much affiliate marketers love Apple updates, so we did a little research and put together this article for you about the upcoming iPhone 18 models.

For some, a new iPhone is just another smartphone not worth a second glance. For others, it’s a reason to upgrade a device that’s been sitting in their pocket for several years. And for the tech industry, every Apple presentation in September has long since become a major event in its own right.

This year, the situation has changed somewhat.

Apple is preparing to unveil the next generation of iPhones, but it seems to have decided to deviate from the usual script. Instead of unveiling the entire lineup at once, the company plans to split it into two phases. As early as September 2026, Apple will hold a major launch event featuring the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and the year’s biggest novelty—the first foldable iPhone Fold. However, the base models—the iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e—will not be released until spring 2027. The second-generation iPhone Air is also expected to be unveiled alongside them.

When will the iPhone 18 be released?

The date for the fall presentation has already been set—September 9, 2026. The event will take place at Apple Park, where the company will unveil its new premium smartphones. This presentation will also mark Apple’s first major event under the leadership of new CEO John Turnus, who officially took the helm on September 1, while Tim Cook transitioned to the role of executive chairman.

But, as we’ve already mentioned, the event is planned to be split into two phases. So if you’re looking to buy the standard iPhone 18, you’ll have to wait until spring 2027. 

What will the iPhone 18 lineup look like?

The new generation is expected to consist of five main models: the iPhone 18, iPhone Air 2, iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and the foldable iPhone Fold.

iPhone 18

The standard iPhone 18 will essentially be the smartphone for those who don’t need all the features of the Pro version but still want the latest generation.

Expect a new A20 processor, improved energy efficiency, new Apple Intelligence features, and camera upgrades. There’s also talk of improvements to battery life, night mode, the display, and wireless charging.

iPhone Air 2

Another interesting model is the successor to the ultra-slim iPhone Air.

One of the most talked-about potential updates is the camera. The second generation may feature an additional wide-angle module, which was missing from the first Air.

The concept, however, remains the same: a large display and a body that’s as thin and light as possible.

iPhone 18 Pro

If Apple sticks to its plans, the Pro models will be the stars of the September event.

The iPhone 18 Pro is expected to feature a new 2-nanometer A20 Pro chip. Additionally, reports are circulating in the media about changes to the Dynamic Island. The plan is to make it smaller by moving some of the Face ID components under the display. 

And what would a new model be without camera improvements? Among the most frequently mentioned new features is a main camera module with a variable aperture, which will allow for more precise control over the amount of light during shooting. Improvements to Night 

Mode and video recording are also expected.

iPhone 18 Pro Max

As usual, the Pro Max will be the largest and most feature-rich smartphone in the series.

It’s expected to be similar to the iPhone 18 Pro in terms of core features, but will feature a larger display and a higher-capacity battery of over 5,000 mAh.

The Pro Max will most likely remain the top choice for those who use their smartphone for work and professional photography, rather than just for everyday tasks like messaging and scrolling through social media. 

iPhone Fold

This is where Apple might really surprise us.

After years of rumors, the company seems finally ready to enter the foldable smartphone market. Online, the device is most often referred to as the iPhone Fold, though the name iPhone Ultra is also used.

It will have a clamshell design—similar to the one competitors like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold have been using for several years.

When folded, the screen may have a diagonal of about 5.5 inches, and when unfolded, approximately 7.8 inches. In other words, it will fit in your pocket as a smartphone, but when opened, it becomes a device with a display that’s nearly the size of a small tablet.

Special attention is being paid to the design. According to leaks, Apple is striving to make the display’s fold as inconspicuous as possible, and the mechanism itself—thin and durable.

The situation with biometrics looks even more interesting. Instead of Face ID, the foldable iPhone will reportedly feature Touch ID, and the front-facing camera will be located under the display. It is expected to be powered by an A20 chip, and the RAM could be 12 GB.

According to forecasts, the starting price of the foldable iPhone could exceed $2,000 in the U.S., making it Apple’s most expensive smartphone in the company’s history.

Apple Intelligence Update

Like most companies, Apple is integrating artificial intelligence into its products (after all, how could we do without it these days?).

The new processors are designed to enable more AI capabilities to run directly on the device. On-device processing means less reliance on an internet connection and potentially better privacy.

It’s still unclear exactly which features Apple will introduce alongside the new iPhones. But it’s obvious that AI will remain one of the key components of the next generation.

How much will the iPhone 18 cost?

There’s no official information online yet, but the iPhone Fold will definitely be the most expensive smartphone in the company’s history (over $2,000 in the U.S.).

As for the other models: $999–$1,499, but we all know full well that the final prices could end up being higher (especially in Ukraine). So let’s prepare for the base-case scenario and not hold out for a “miracle.”

Instead of conclusion: Is It Worth Waiting for the iPhone 18?

If you’re still using an iPhone 13, 14, or an even older model, the upgrade to the new generation will likely be noticeable. Over the past few years, Apple has significantly improved the cameras, performance, battery life, and software capabilities.

However, for owners of the iPhone 16 or 17, there’s probably no real rush. It all depends on what exactly Apple unveils on September 9.
